Firm bottoms

Pole dock, or pipe dock: the classic for firm bottoms

When the bottom is firm, the level stays stable and the depth is reasonable, a pole dock — the pipe dock cottagers know — is a solid choice — literally: the structure rests directly on the bottom, with no floats and no complex anchoring. In aluminum, it goes in and comes out easily from one season to the next, and it lasts for years without asking for maintenance.

Its limit is simple: it needs a firm bottom to hold. If your bottom is soft or rocky, if the water drops off, or if the level moves a lot, we go floating, or semi-floating completed by a floating platform. The diagnostic settles it in three questions.

FAQ

Your questions about docks

Which type of dock should I choose for my shoreline?

The rule is simple. Firm bottom (sand, gravel), stable level, reasonable depth: a pole dock (also called a pipe dock) works very well. Soft or rocky bottom, deep water, or a level that moves: you go floating, or semi-floating completed by a floating platform. Our diagnostic gives you the answer in three questions, with no email required.

How much does an installed dock cost?

Every dock is priced by its type and configuration: no catalogue price would tell the truth about your own shoreline. The free quote gives you the exact price, delivery and installation included, before any decision.

Do you install the dock yourselves?

Yes. The sale, the delivery and the installation are part of the same quote, carried out by our own insured and equipped crew. You have nothing to haul and nothing to assemble.

Can I add a gangway or accessories?

Yes. A dock gangway, a ladder and other accessories are planned into the quote, so the whole thing is thought through at once.

Do you also handle installation and removal each season?

Yes, that’s a separate service: our crew puts your dock in the water in the spring and takes it out in the fall, so you get your waterfront back intact without touching it.

What area do you install in?

We’re based in Gatineau and install within roughly 2 to 2.5 hours of driving: from Mont-Laurier in the north down to Kingston in the south, and from Petawawa in the west across to Saint-Hippolyte in the east. For a large project or a heavy-capacity lift we travel further, as far as Quebec City, Abitibi or Lac-Saint-Jean. Tell us your town when you request a quote: we’ll confirm right away whether your waterfront is within our service area.
